Cookin’ up Some Fall…

at the Bottom’s Up Antique Market yesterday. There is a lot of “rustic” going on at the market these days and this was part of the wonderful booth of Melinda Dennis of Tres Melindas. It was an interesting market with even some june bug shells spray painted gold for a Halloween effect. June bugs by artist Greg Johnson and no photograph of them… too blurry.  It’s too bad that every Friday can’t be a First Friday!!

It’s been an 80 plus weekend and still no rain. They are saying that possibly we will get lucky on Monday and get a break from the drought.

  1. Very pretty, simple fall scene. Love the simple wire basket with a single squash.

  2. Yes, very rustic. I like it!
It’s been raining here off and on since Saturday evening. The rain was moving north, hopefully got some rain since you posted this.

  3. The green fruits are from a bois d’arc tree, Maclura pomifera, also called Osage orange.

  4. Pretty photo … love squash and Osage-orange hedge-apples.

  5. Beautiful photograph!

  6. Great still life! I really like the way the brighter greens pop against the duller colors.
