Moonflower

I love it when First Friday is a holiday weekend.  Yesterday started the holiday off on the right foot… two of my favorite things… a friend and a pitcher!  :)

There was plenty of Good JuJu, some Liberty Bell and finally some Bottom’s Up… no not the pitcher, but the vintage market.  It was dark when we got home.  Where did the summer go anyway… it is dark by 8:30 now.  As I was walking to the front door the moonflower scent beckoned me to stop.  I just stood there sniffing away… then pulled out the camera and the porch lights gave it just the right amount of natural glow… just like the full moon did last week.

Have a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend!

  6. hi kateri… you should grow the moonflower vine. it is truly a night blooming flower and on the night of a full moon it is a site to behold (and smell). this bloom was about eight inches in diameter. i really don’t have enough sun to make it grow like it could, but i put it in a pot (with a very large support for climbing) and move it about as the sun changes angle.

    thanks tdc!

    bbg… indeed… my pleasure

i’ve been visiting all of your beautiful blogs… just not much time to comment. I’m hoping fall will slow things down enough that i can do more than view and dash!

  7. Dana, thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting. Not only were we in your neck of the woods, but we spent a night in Kansas City towards the end of our trip, so we were practically in your neighborhood ;-)
