The Fallen

We’ve had some gloomy, cold spring weekends so far… this one was no exception.  There has been no gardening done, to speak of, so the fallen leaves are still in their wintery places.  No, the rhodies are not blooming here yet.  These were purchased yesterday for a spring basket in the garden.  Last night one lost a blossom… probably the plant’s way of telling me it wishes it was back in Texas!!

  1. Of course it wishes it were back in Texas!!! It is a pretty thing, laying there against the backdrop of some foreign place.

    Your fan in Texas…

  2. What a pleasant contrast! Maybe the plant was trying to say something.

  3. Very pretty. I’ll take any flowers this time of year..even if they are fallen on the ground. :)
(PS, That picture you commented on in my blog is is a British soldier lichen. I put a link to an article about the lichen under the picture, if you would like to learn more about them. I was really glad to see them this spring–they bring back happy childhood memories!)

  4. What a lovely photo. The contrasting colors are stunning!

  5. It is the same here. The only thing blooming so far except the jonquils, is one dandelion in my front yard, and it is raining too hard to go out for a photo.

  6. What a beautiful color at a delicate little flower.
