Winter Bouquet

A quick walk through the garden this evening produced a little winter bouquet… a late Christmas gift for a friend.  Well the actual gift was the owl holding the bouquet… it is not really a vase, but it’s original use is a mystery.  It has a handle and a built in dish of sorts on the front.  It was once used as a candle holder, since when found at an estate sale it was covered with wax, but it doesn’t look like it was originally a candle holder either… so vase it is!!

Now I’m off to start a new book, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, which was my gift along with the cutest little wire bird I’ve ever seen.  Maybe I’ll take a picture of that cute little bird tomorrow!
