A Walk in the Park

What a weekend to be under the weather.   Couldn’t sleep this morning so thought to myself, self, do you want to lay here and feel bad or go for a walk in the park?  OK, walk in the park.  WOW, it was FOGGY!!  I was headed to the Rose Garden, but I was so distracted along the way I didn’t make it there until after the fog lifted.  Anyway… here are a few shots enroute to the then un-fog-covered rose garden.

Did I mention that it was foggy?

and there were dew covered webs!

and LOTS of spiders…

and signs of fall in the trees…

I stopped for a while… it just seemed like the thing to do…

Now, off to my original destination before the fog lifts… but what is that I see out of the corner of my eye?…

…the most beautiful fungus I’ve ever seen!

It would have been even more awesome in it’s prime.  It was nearly two feet across, but the middle had been destroyed by the elements…

Well… finally here, sans fog…

but, there are still spiders and webs…

and dew…

and, of course, ROSES…

and evidence of a Fairy wedding…

and signs of the Rose preparing for the next season…

… of LIFE!!

  1. Love this series!!! Bet you felt better after your trip to the park, didn’t you? Wonderful photos here.Lovely fog shrouded trees in the first photo. That needs enlarged, framed and hung. The rest are equally as good, but that 1st one really stands out. Also the 4th, 6th, 8th and 9th photos need to be considered for framing as well. You did a grand job.

  2. Oh that fog is dreamalicious! I love the moody shot of the bridge. And those lacy webs are like jeweled necklaces. That fungus is amazing — looks huge.

  3. Wow! What a fantastic series! Did you ever make the best of that day! I love all of those photos, but the first one is so extra nice!

  4. Hi, Jewel! Many thanks for visiting me yesterday…so nice to meet you and to find your beautiful blog! I admire your photography. This foray to the Rose Garden is made more magical and romantic by the fog, I think. The watery droplets on the spider web looks like fairy pearls…This is such a dreamy post…*sigh*… I look forward to visiting again. :o) Happy Day

  5. Foggy landscapes and dewy spider webs are among my favorite subjects. Very nice series, Jewel. You captured both really well. And the roses are just a bonus!

  6. Oh my, I liked the walk!

  7. That was a foggy, webby, fresh, wet, cold & beautiful…Walk :D

  8. This is a stunning set! I love, love, love the lonely tree one!
