Humble Abode

I’ve heard of living in a fish bowl, but never a watering can. The little family seems quite at home though. I did the best I could with the G9 and lack of lighting. Times like these I need some GEAR! This is only about 18 inches off the ground so I hope everyone stays very quiet so they all survive the predators.

  1. Is it a wren? How cute!

  2. There is a wren who likes to place her nests in one of my potted plants out on the porch. Three years now. First time, I found it, I removed it because I wanted to water the plant. I did not think watering the plant and the nest would survive together. She had not laid any eggs yet, thankfully. The next year, I let it go and carefully watered around the nest and was rewarded by seeing the three fledglings leave the nest and watched their first flights. Then this year, a different plant was selected, yet it was blown over in one of our horrific storms. Dumped the nest and the eggs. I didn’t find them until morning. And Ms. Wren chided me like I was the one who had dumped it. If I thought there was anyway the eggs would have still been viable, I would have put them all back into the plant, but they were stone cold. I think she went else place for her nest after that.

  3. Looks like a Wren. They can find the darnedest places to nest. Nice find.
