King of Pop Memorabilia

I searched the archives today and this is what I came up with. I thought I had others, but “he” must have gotten custody of those. I can’t imagine I would have let that happen. ; )

For me, music triggers such emotion, memories both fond and not-so-fond… I shed a few tears while looking through the Doobie Brothers, Queen, Santana, Beatles, Sly & the Family Stone, Commodores, Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Michael Jackson, and on and on. (Yes, I have a wide range of musical taste.)

Something else happened today…
It had been 10 years, 4 months & about 28 days since I had lifted the arm on the turntable. Anyway, I threw on the “Off the Wall” vinyl and was quickly reminded of the loss of “music” we have had through technology. Yes, there was noise, pops and cracks, but I was taken back to a very pleasant place… feeling like i was in a concert hall. I once again heard every instrument, every voice and it reminded me that I need to treat myself to a concert now and then. Those days when I would situate myself on the floor in front of the turntable with all my albums at hand listening to one track off of an album, then switching to another, and another, need to return. Fun and relaxing times!!

P.S. How do you take a picture of three albums and a CD? I tried laying them out flat, fanning them, stacking them staggered… this is all i could come up with.

  1. I wonder how many folks still have turntables today. Or vinyl either.
