Those muted pastel colors look awesome. Did you desaturate the image?

It was actually a grossly overexposed photo and I had to increase the saturation a bit (the pure white photo then picked up a little pinkish tint) and increase contrast to salvage any detail at all. I’m limited to iPhoto for editing so can’t do anything fancy… someday I hope to move to advanced editing software!! Thanks for taking the look and commenting!

With the overexposure came shadow. In photographer terms, this is called high key, an image where the predominant tone is light with enough mid and shadow tones to give definition. It always catches people’s attention because, done right like yours, it is dreamy. The creaminess adds warmth; so you created an emotional piece that is appealing on many levels.
