Reading Room

If I lived in Boston I would spend every minute possible at the Boston Public Library, Bates Hall. It was such an elegant atmosphere… majestic would be an appropriate description. Even though most libraries are quiet, this one was truly meditative. I stood there thinking about the many politicians, Harvard graduates, war heroes and others who must have sat in that very room through the years. There are many pictures of the inside of the room, but for some reason I just couldn’t bring myself to take one… at the time it seemed like a violation of “the purpose” of the room.

  1. It’s good to see that you respect and appreciate a place like that! Your photo portrays that feeling.

  2. What a wonderful room! It is hard to find anything better than an old library, especially one this distinguished.

  3. Excellent. I love the colors and the use of the mirror reflecting the hidden part of the room.
